Top LGBTQ Honeymoon Destinations

Hey lovebirds! If you're planning your honeymoon in 2026, you deserve somewhere that celebrates love and belonging.

Here are some of my top picks!

1. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Why It’s Great
Puerto Vallarta is consistently one of the top LGBTQ-friendly destinations in Latin America. The Zona Romántica neighborhood is vibrant with LGBTQ bars, nightlife, and culture. The beaches, local culture, cuisine, and hospitality are warm and inclusive.

Top Resorts for Honeymooners

  • Almar Resort (Zona Romántica): This is a luxury, adults-only LGBTQ resort, largely gay-focused, with ocean views, beach access, and beautiful pool/lounge spaces. Owned by Vidal Meza and his brother; it’s Puerto Vallarta’s only fully LGBTQ+ resort. Starting at around $400/night.

  • Pinata PV Hotel: This one is just for our men. A boutique experience with only 7 rooms. Onsite there's a pool, jacuzzi, steam room, and open air rooftop gym. They also host special events on property that include non-hotel guests. Starting around $200/night.

  • Casa Velas Boutique Hotel: Less party, more romance and spa. It's quiet, lush, and has a good reputation in the LGBTQ community. Starting around $550/night.

2. Thailand (Phuket, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, etc.)

Why It’s Great
Thailand legalized same-sex marriage effective January 2025, making 2026 one of the first full years of legal equality in Southeast Asia. The culture in many tourist areas is very accepting, and hospitality sectors are increasingly LGBTQ-friendly. Resorts often participate in the Go Thai Be Free initiative which promotes inclusivity.

Top Resorts for Honeymooners

  • Keemala, Phuket: A romantic resort nestled in the hills, very scenic, beautifully designed, and explicitly supportive of LGBTQ+ guests; many staff and programs are inclusive. Starting around $900/night.

  • Six Senses Samui: Sweeping panorama views of the gulf. Most of the villas have private pools. Starting around $600/night.

  • Aleenta Retreat Chiang Mai: Perfect if you want a quieter, more nature-oriented honeymoon, with wellness, holistic offerings, calm atmosphere, and LGBTQ-welcoming credentials (proud-certified). Starting around $300/night.

3. Mykonos & Santorini, Greece

Why It’s Great
Greece remains one of Europe’s most LGBTQ-friendly destinations, particularly the islands. Mykonos has long been celebrated for its vibrant gay nightlife, inclusive beach clubs, and luxury hospitality. Santorini offers romance via dramatic sunsets, cliff-side views, and quiet but sumptuous hotels. For 2026, availability has improved and many resorts are positioning explicitly as welcoming and romantic for queer couples.

Top Resorts for Honeymooners

  • Santa Marina, a Luxury Collection Resort (Mykonos): Beautiful suites and villas, private beach access, and a glamorous feel. Great for couples who want style + privacy. Starting around $600/night.

  • Kivotos Santorini: The views here just can't compete. This hillside resort is in the most open-minded area of the island. Luxury isn't spared in the rooms or villas with private hot tubs and pools. Starting around $650/night.

  • Kalesma Mykonos: Boutique luxury, with design and local flavor, intimate suites, excellent service. Perfect for couples who want something elegant but not overbuilt. Starting around $600/night.

4. Curaçao

Why I’m obsessed with Curaçao in 2026
Curaçao is like the Caribbean’s artsy little sibling—colorful, vibrant, and unapologetically LGBTQ+ friendly. You’ll find rainbow-painted streets in Willemstad, beach clubs that know how to party, and some of the best snorkeling in the region. It’s romance + fun + inclusivity wrapped into one sunny island.

Top Resorts for Honeymooners

  • Baoase Luxury Resort – Ultra-luxury villas and suites with private pools and butler service. If you want to feel like royalty on your honeymoon, this is the spot. Starting around $3000/night.

  • Dreams Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino – An all-inclusive playground with plenty of restaurants, beach access, and a mix of fun + relaxation. Bonus: the new oceanfront “tiny home” pods are ridiculously cute. Starting around $300/night.

  • Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort – Breezy, all-inclusive vibes right on the water. Chill at the swim-up bar, snorkel nearby reefs, then retreat to your private space. Perfect if you want lively energy without giving up comfort. Starting around $300/night.

5. Malta

Why Malta is a gem
This tiny island nation punches way above its weight. Malta is consistently ranked as one of the most LGBTQ-friendly countries in Europe, and it’s equal parts ancient charm and coastal romance. Think medieval streets for hand-in-hand strolling, cliffside sunsets that feel straight out of a movie, and boutique hotels that mix old-world elegance with modern luxury.

Top Resorts for Honeymooners

  • The Phoenicia Malta (Valletta) – Historic, elegant, and right at the entrance to Valletta. It’s classic luxury with a side of grandeur, perfect for couples who love a little old-world charm. Starting around $500/night.

  • Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz (Gozo) – A serene, spa-centric hideaway on Malta’s quieter sister island. Expect slower mornings, jaw-dropping sunsets, and plenty of pampering. Starting around $200/night.

  • Hotel Rosselli – A modern boutique choice in the heart of Valletta. It’s intimate, stylish, and you can also arrange in room massages. Starting around $400/night.

Ready to make it official?

Your honeymoon shouldn’t just be another trip—it should be the trip. The one where you sip champagne in a private pool, watch sunsets that feel straight out of a rom-com, and know you’re in a place that celebrates your love exactly as it is.

That’s where I come in.  I’ll handle the details (think flights, dreamy resorts, the best LGBTQ+ friendly spots, and all the fun extras) so you can just show up and glow up.
