Let's be honest, packing is the worst part of any trip.
​I've styled five cute vacation outfits that are ready to throw in your bag.

This navy tiered maxi is honestly one of those dresses you'll reach for on every single trip. It's comfortable enough for a long travel day but put-together enough to walk straight into dinner without changing. Tiered maxi dresses are basically wrinkle-proof. Stuff it in your bag and shake it out when you arrive.


The woven crossbody and wedges keep are so beachy, and those little floral earrings? Such a cute detail that pulls the whole thing together. I was so happy I was able to find a matching bracelet. This is the "I look like I tried but I really didn't" outfit, and we are here for it.


Okay, the embroidered clutch on this one is everything. I saw it and knew I had to build an outfit around it. I love the multiple colors (can work with many outfits), and how it can easily dress up a look for dinner.


The olive knotted midi dress is super flattering with the side tie, and the plain color makes it super versatile. Swap the accessories, and you have a whole different look. Also, I love me a good side slit. It gives it just enough movement to feel a little flirty.


The black wedges are comfy enough to actually walk in. Gold hoops, and you're done. Seriously, done.


My tip: When I travel, I usually bring a nude pair and black pair of shoes. These usually cover every outfit.

I'm obsessed with the eyelet hem on this dress. It feels very romantic, and the dress is just easy to "pull on." I love that dresses take little effort but actually make it look like you tried. The fabric on this one is breathable in the heat and airy enough for humid destinations. 


Since the dress was one color, I wanted to bring in some personality with the accessories. I love this pink bow purse. It's so girly and this ballerina pink color is one of my faves. 


The necklace allows you to choose which charms you want and how to organize them. You can reconfigure for different outfits. I loved the colors in the wedges as they would work with a lot of outfits. They would also match the two outfits above. 

I had to add in some pattern, and this floral dress is bold and gorgeous. Prints also hide wrinkles really well. The colors make it stand out, yet the spaghetti straps keeps it from feeling too fussy.


You could rock this dress in the daytime with some flip flops, or you could dress it up for some drinks with the gold accessories.  


The hot pink clutch is a perfect match, and the dainty heart necklace doesn't overshadow the print of the dress. And clearly I love accessories with bows. Add these gold bow heels to really dress it up. 

This last dress is another great option for dressing up or dressing down. You could explore all day if you swap the heels with some white sneakers. But the real MVP here is the white wide-brim hat as it protects you from the sun while looking super cute.


The white bow heels are elegant without being impractical, and the baroque pearl bracelet is the quiet little finishing touch that makes the whole look feel intentional.

1. Puerto Vallarta, Mexico


Why It’s Great
Puerto Vallarta is consistently one of the top LGBTQ-friendly destinations in Latin America. The Zona Romántica neighborhood is vibrant with LGBTQ bars, nightlife, and culture. The beaches, local culture, cuisine, and hospitality are warm and inclusive.

  • Almar Resort (Zona Romántica): This is a luxury, adults-only LGBTQ resort, largely gay-focused, with ocean views, beach access, and beautiful pool/lounge spaces. Owned by Vidal Meza and his brother; it’s Puerto Vallarta’s only fully LGBTQ+ resort. Starting at around $400/night.

  • Pinata PV Hotel: This one is just for our men. A boutique experience with only 7 rooms. Onsite there's a pool, jacuzzi, steam room, and open air rooftop gym. They also host special events on property that include non-hotel guests. Starting around $200/night. 

  • Casa Velas Boutique Hotel: Less party, more romance and spa. It's quiet, lush, and has a good reputation in the LGBTQ community. Starting around $550/night. 

2. Thailand (Phuket, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, etc.)


Why It’s Great
Thailand legalized same-sex marriage effective January 2025, making 2026 one of the first full years of legal equality in Southeast Asia. The culture in many tourist areas is very accepting, and hospitality sectors are increasingly LGBTQ-friendly. Resorts often participate in the Go Thai Be Free initiative which promotes inclusivity.

 Here’s a month-by-month guide to make honeymoon planning a breeze.

12+ Months Before:

  • Dream big. Start browsing destinations together and figure out what kind of vibe you want: adventurous, relaxing, cultural, or a mix.

  • Work with your travel advisor (hi, that’s me!) to explore ideas based on your travel style, budget, and seasonality.

  • Travel styles to consider: Active, adventure, culinary, culture, luxury, nature, relaxation, wellness


9–11 Months Before:

  • Pick your destination and lock in your travel dates. (I can do my job best when you have a destination in mind!)

  • Book early for the best rates and availability—especially for luxury resorts, overwater villas, and boutique stays.

  • Consider whether you’ll use points & miles or pay out of pocket.

  • Secure travel insurance for peace of mind.


6–8 Months Before:

  • Plan excursions and special experiences: spa days, private dinners, guided tours.

  • Double-check that your passports are valid for at least 6 months after your return date.


3–5 Months Before:

  • Begin pre-travel preparations: vaccinations (if necessary), updated TSA info, STEP registration.

I'm sure you've heard of Punta Cana, but have you heard about Miches?

Nothing compares to seeing a place in person. Last week I was in the Dominican for E3 Training hosted by Classic Vacations. E3 stands for Elite, Education, and Experience. Classic Vacations is a supplier I work with to book vacations. As your advisor, I want to continue educating myself on everything travel. Miches is a new destination in the Dominican about 90 minutes from the Punta Cana airport. 

On the drive out, you'll pass areas you probably know- Punta Cana, Bavaro, and Cap Cana. After that, you're in the beautiful countryside surrounded by lush greenery, mountains, and animals. I'm a visual learner, so here's a map:

Since it's a new destination, there's only a handful of resorts open in the area, and I was able to see three of them: Zemi Miches, Secrets/Dreams Playa Esmeralda, and Marriot Miches Beach. 


First, I'll start with Zemi Miches as that's where I stayed. At this point, the resort is 80% completed. They're still working on the spa, kids area, and the private bungalows. I was surprised to hear that this hotel is part of the Hilton All Inclusive Collection as it's unique and boasts elements of the surrounding Taino culture. It has 10 restaurants/bars, four pools, water slides, and event space. There's also a preferred club area that has a rooftop pool and additional dining options. 


Standard rooms have a variety of views- tropical, ocean, and beach. There's also a plunge pool option on the first floor. They have connecting rooms available and a suite category perfect for families with a King bed and 2 Queen beds. The beachfront bungalows come in a suite, 1 bedroom, or 2 bedroom option. 


The pools were lovely. The main pool has a swim up bar and a food truck poolside. I believe there were also two hot tubs in that area. The beach is natural- the sand is more brown than white. But the water was lovely, it was even warmer than the pool. I would suggest water shoes as there's some rocks in the area. The resort also offers complimentary water sports like paddle boards and kayaks. 


My overall thoughts on this resort is that it's perfect for multigenerational trips and also couples looking for a relaxing getaway. The kids will stay entertained with the kids club, teen club, and water slides. I could see honeymooners really enjoying the beachfront bungalows, spa, and great dining. The overall vibe is more relaxed than what you might find at Punta Cana. 


The next resort I saw was Marriott Miches Beach. This resort isn't actually open yet but will be soon. It's a bit more budget friendly than the other two resorts I saw, but it still has all the amenities you'd need. Their beachfront area was the biggest as well. 

Marriott Miches Beach- This resort is a bit more budget friendly, but it still has all the amenities you'd need. I loved their two story room option for entertaining and could see groups really enjoying this property. Their standard rooms come with a tropical or pool view. Upgraded rooms have jacuzzi options and swim up pools. There's even a two story room that would be perfect for entertaining a small party. I could really envision groups enjoying this space, especially corporate groups. 

The last property was the largest of the three- Dreams (family) and Secrets (adult only) Playa Esmeralda. These neighboring resorts offer a ton of amenities. This resort just opened this summer so still very new. Guests from the Secrets side are able to use Dream's amenities, and adults from the Dreams side are able to access Secret's amenities. Kids are not allowed on the adults only side at all. 

The middle area is where the two resorts connect, and that is where many of the dining options and activities are. Honestly, it was so extensive I felt that I was in a small town. The Secrets side has 11 restaurant/bars and Dreams has ten. The standard room at Dreams and Secrets have either a tropical, pool, or ocean view with the additional option of a swim up. Both sides have a preferred club level with preferred amenities and exclusive areas. Overall, I love this property for destination weddings as it really offers something for every generation.

The Pros and Cons (in my opinion)

Planning your honeymoon is so exciting but can also be super overwhelming. All-inclusive resorts are luring for many couples because they're convenient and "easier" in some ways. Plus, it's what a lot of us are familiar with if you're traveling from the US. I've found that a lot of people don't realize that all-inclusive resorts aren't available in all countries. I personally think there's a time and place for an all-inclusive resort. Let me break down the pros and cons below. 

Let's start with the positives of staying at an all-inclusive:

They can be less stressful to plan (if you're planning it on your own). Everything like your meals, drinks, and activities are taken care of. You often don't even have to leave the resort to have an enjoyable time. Perfect for any beach goers who just want to enjoy their time on the beach with a cocktail in hand. 


The overall cost can be more predictable because you're paying for everything up front. You don't have to worry about setting aside money for restaurants and such.


Many of these resorts are catered towards romantic travel, especially adults only resorts. They already have built in extras like couples' spa treatments, private beach dinners, and personal hot tubs right on your patio. Not to mention if you go with an adults only option, you don't have to worry about kids running around and ruining your special moment. 


Now the negatives:

Because everything is provided on site, many couples don't venture out to explore the local culture, cuisine, or attractions. If you're wanting to learn more about the local culture, staying at an all-inclusive might feel a bit isolating. This goes along with the food selection as well. While the food is included, it's often much less authentic and can be buffet heavy. Most resorts require reservations for the non-buffet options, and those can fill up quickly. Each resort has different procedures when it comes to this, so you need to make sure you're aware if these need to be booked before you even leave for the trip. 


Destinations that cater to all-inclusive resorts can be limited. The most are populated within the Caribbean and Mexico. More countries are building all-inclusives, but the options can be limited and often don't provide the level of service you might receive at other local resorts.


If you're not an avid beach goer, you might find the activity options limited. You'll have to purchase off site excursions to explore some real adventure. 


Now, there's no right or wrong on vacation. It just depends on your preferences. This is where I can come in to help educate about the options available to you. Plus, I do all the leg work, so even a custom itinerary can be just an easy and stress free as an all inclusive vacation.
